12.11.1 Offline Data Processing on the IHEP Computing Platform¶

The local Slurm computing cluster at IHEP provides offline data processing for ALICPT. In the local computing cluster, the computing resources for the experiment include CPU resources and shared storage.

Apply for a computing cluster account.

Refer to the account application chapter. After approval from the ALICPT computing contact, users can obtain an AFS account.

12.11.2 B1 Site Resources¶

The B1 experiment site in Ali, Tibet, provides storage equipment for experiment data and data-transfer software.

Apply for a B1 site account.
Users need an IHEP computing platform cluster account.
The experiment contact sends the user account name to IHEP Computing Center. The Computing Center administrator creates the B1 site account. The account name is the same as the IHEP computing platform account, but the B1 password is managed independently and must be set by the user.
Log in to the B1 site.

Log in to the IHEP computing platform first, then log in to the B1 site:

$ ssh username@login.alicpt.ihep.ac.cn

Notes.
The B1 site only provides access to experiment data replicas on login.alicpt.ihep.ac.cn.
The experiment DAQ server writes raw data directly to the dedicated B1 experiment data directory. Data-transfer software sends the data back to the IHEP computing platform. Other users cannot directly access raw experiment data at B1.
During data transfer back to IHEP, the transfer software also creates data replicas for users to access at B1.
Regular users can only connect to login.alicpt.ihep.ac.cn. Access to other servers requires a separate application to the server administrator. Usernames are consistent across B1 servers, but passwords are managed independently by each server.
