12.15 Other Experiments or Applications¶
Instructions for users from other experiments or applications:
-
Apply for an account according to the account application chapter.
-
Basic steps for using the computing platform:
a. Log in to the computing cluster
b. Debug your code and programs
c. Submit jobs
In general, computing resources for different experiments or applications are integrated into the corresponding cluster according to workload type. Resources for serial jobs are placed in the HTCondor cluster, while resources for parallel jobs or GPU jobs are placed in the Slurm cluster.
Users should first confirm which cluster their jobs should run on. If the HTCondor cluster does not contain resources provided by the user's experiment, submitted jobs may have the lowest priority and may wait for a long time. The current Slurm cluster does not provide job execution for experiments without allocated resources.
Each experiment user account has user space under AFS, workfs, and scratchfs when created. Some experiments also have dedicated data storage directories.
| Experiment or application | Available job cluster | Dedicated storage directory and limits |
|---|---|---|
| CAC | Slurm | /cac |
| BIO | Slurm | /bio |
| CEPC | HTCondor | /cefs |
| MBH | Slurm | /mbh |
